Balancing Creativity and Life
Saturday 10/15 4:00PM - 5:00PM Room 101
There’s a prevailing myth that artists must always create and engage in their craft. This is a beautiful concept, but there is a dark side: many artists find themselves burned out, injured, or just uninspired from focusing all of their energy on creating. This talk is about ways that we can balance our creative practice with downtime, rest, and time away from art. The irony is that setting these boundaries is an essential part of ensuring that our creativity thrives when we do return to it. I will talk about my personal experiences, as well as give tips and advice for how artists can manage their time.
